Their Story
Project Manager. Construction Management Professor. Craftsman.
Allan graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Civil Engineering, served as an Air Force Officer, and then a Civilian employee for nearly 20 years at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. At DM, he served as the technical representative for the contracting officer for all base construction and maintenance contract operations through civil engineering. These contracts included projects for construction and renovation in base housing, dormitories, commercial facilities, office spaces, runways and flight lines.
After DMAFB, Allan completed his PhD at Virginia Tech in preparation for a faculty position at Arizona State University in the Del E. Webb School of Construction. While teaching, he combined his industry and educational experiences to work with professional business owners and contractors, developing educational and research programs for the next-generation constructors, in residential as well as industrial-facility construction. This faculty position combined with his Professional Engineering registration and LEED AP accreditation gave him the privilege of networking and collaborating with many contractors and construction industry leaders worldwide.
Allan’s woodworking hobby launched him into remodeling his own home, providing him great satisfaction and igniting an interest in doing the same for others.
He enjoys experimenting with (and tasting) coffee bean blends and his love of learning has made him a lifelong student.
